Why Do Intuitive Feelers Always Appear Youthful?

So many NF people I know look exceptionally young for their age, even those who are over 50 years.
Even here in PerC with the various topic threads such as: "ENFP's, post photos of yourself here", why do the Intuitive Feelers always look so youthful?

Genuinely a mystery to me .....
(Not to mention some jealousy.)

I don't think it's only NFs, I've seen plenty NTs, usually NTP who don't look their age at all. I think experiencing the world in a different way than the majority just inevitably produces a different phenotype than them. If the standard of how you're supposed to look like as you age is based on S, mainly SJs yea an NP will be different 🤷‍♀️ . Of course some people here don't even believe that who you are and how you look are connected so it probably doesn't make sense to them but not my problem.

That being said, not all Ns remain youthful the same way and that has to do with many lifestyle factors as well as cognitive ones. Challenging your mind to keep learning, but also to challenge your own conclusions, especially on if your own habits (physical and mental) are healthy, allows for plasticity and will have a direct effect on ageing. Of course doing all the wrong things like drinking, smoking, eating badly, etc will eventually catch up even with an N. It's hard to give a definitive answer, things that commonly stress people don't really touch me so that probably relates as well. Having wonderment for the world and being playful, also relates, basically choosing life over death. Constancy, stability = death.

Yes, i've heard this about xNTP's also.
I get it all the time - my physical aging is far less than my chronological age.

Perhaps it is the 'Intuitive' part of us that contributes to youthfulness?

I agree.

Serious-minded or 'regimented' people tend to appear more 'aged' for some reason.
Speaking as a Pyschologist, I suspect elevated aging rates are related to the sustained high levels or adrenaline they produce. (It's what keeps them hyper-focussed for extended periods of time.)

I believe it’s a flux

sure certain lifestyles might affect how you age but it’s mostly genetics

we are finding out so much with dna/RNA …how our ancestor pass us their habits, memories, talents etc…

however, as I get older, ppl don’t look the way I thought they did…like I used to think 40 was so old…but now that I’m there, its not as old as i thought, and notice others my age and yes, they dont look 40, either, to me bc for decades I associated that with being really old…and we are not.
of course, I don’t think the 80s and earlier generations helped,…they all look so old ….even if they were only in the 20s bc of the style, I guess…at least it seems that way.

I thought I was nuts for thinking that, but I found out I wasn’t the only one…
interesting if you want to check it out

I look young and was carded until my late 30s..and yes I happen to be an NF, but so is my mom, she cute but aged fast, and She is a total free spirit…im serious but always feeding my passions (curiosity), …however my dad ESTJ very young looking, ppl use to think we dated when I was in high school, gross…and my step father ISTJ very very young looking for his age…he could pass for 40s but in his 70s.

lifestyles my dad ESTJ lives straight arrow, a beer or two a day…chill guy, heath eater, stays very active, travel, sports….no drugs. No mental health problems ever…

my mom and step dad were partiers …hard drugs, living on the roads as nomads for a long while…but eats healthy…my mom ENFJ is a free spirit, but get anxiety in her later years, step dad ISTJ is cynical as hell, but awesome…

so, I believes it’s mostly just genetics and style….

Genes being something set in stone and determining everything is a faulty understanding that we're moving away from, now that we're discovering how epigenetics play a much bigger and important role as what genes we EXPRESS is more important than what genes we have. And what genes we express is very related to lifestyle and mentality.
Scientists have found ways to reverse aging and restoring genetic expression to decades younger, reverse blindness and soon other age-related ailments. Look at the work of Dr. David Sinclair for this. Ageing is more like a disease than something determined pre-birth.

Been scolded for having kids too young for years ( I’m 37 my daughter is 6 years old ) I used to be offended, now I’m flattered - most definitely getting older .

With that said
I think that isfp looks pretty youthful- Jared Leto doesn’t seem to age ( Seen him up close in person 3 times )

I'm 31, the oldest I've been told I look is 27, most people I'd say assume mid 20s, some have thought 23 recently. I've been ID checked twice this year (considering I buy alcohol from the same tescos that's 1/3 of the staff). People are universally surprised when I say I am 31.

To me I notice I am ageing, I am starting to get small wrinkles around my left eye.

Also worth noting when my mom was 35 and I was 10, people used to comment they thought she was my 16 year old sister so genetics play a big role.

shrugs .... maybe this is a thing, yeah.

And the older I get, the more often I hear that I look much younger than I am. People genuinely get shocked over it.
Though my theory is that grandma's genes were semi-indonesian, and asians don't age before 70.
My dad turned 60 this year and still does not have grey hairs. Yay me.

It's either that or my lifelong beer diet.
