Is knowing a person’s name you were never told before intuition and/or feeling?

I sometimes get this ‘knowing’ feeling in my gut, and it is accurate. On three occasion, I had a gut feel for a person’s name, and, it was correct.

One time, after boarding a plane, started chatting with the person sitting next to me. About half way through the conversation, I asked them “Who is Marie?” She was surprised and asked me how I knew her middle name (we had not exchanged names, a name came to me, gut feeling, and turned out to be her name).

On another occasion, I was talking to a person I just met and they somehow started sharing with me a relationship story, asking for advice. In the middle of their story, I said, “Is the other person’s name Andy?” …. And, she responded “How did you know? Do you know him?”

The last one was at an airport food court. There was a lady sitting across the table, and, I ‘felt’ her name. I wanted to check the accuracy of the feeling I had and started a conversation. I then said “Please don’t be alarmed if I am accurate, but, would like to guess your name.” She gave me permission to try. The name I spoke was her name! She jumped out of her seat and demanded to know who I was! I had to reassure her that I was just a ‘normal’ person passing through for a connection flight. I had to show her my state and work IDs to reassure her.

Have you had similar experiences or ‘knowing’ moments?

I have experienced that - somehow knew name of ex's new child with her next partner (when we were not together any more) before she told me. No idea from where that came from and I wouldn't relate this to any cognitive role.

One thing to think about: in some cases such things are related to certain type of unconcious bias - that one thinks they knew something in advance which they actually didn't know before things happened. Just an idea, not saying it's the case in particular situation in OP

Happens to me a lot. Mostly mine is related to the telephone. I’ll be sitting in my recliner and I’ll get the message someone is getting ready to call. 5 to 10 seconds later I get a call.

I can feel things “coming in”.

I have also been able to “see” images in my head of things going on very far away.

I also recently had information come to me over a month before the body was found, that someone shot themselves in the head and then the animals ate them.

I have driven up to my home and told husband “there is a message on the answering machine from ****, they called at 11:30am.”

I have also been able to predict meat prices, right on the mark.

I am not 100% and I’m not interested in working for a remote viewing team. My success in this stuff is good but not good enough to earn money.

Oh yeah! I forgot. I picked winner after winner at the race track. I’d go down the list of names, not paying attention to odds, and pick the names that felt right.

Intuition maybe? I think the military and police use some tool like intuition to help with investigators. Many will laugh it off but I have had fun when I am right.

It’s a feeling of information coming to me. I NEVER ask for it, it just happens.

Interesting! How often does the incoming phone call ‘intuition’ happen?

Thanks for sharing!

Images from far away events is powerfu!

I completely relate to that ‘feeling right’ when going through a list of names or options.

I have not predicted exact prices, but, I have had success with the feeling I get when it comes to knowing pets and babies ages (in months and years precision) when I am out and about.

I thought the question is:

1) it's intuition
2) it's feeling
3) it's both

-> it's 3 (both) or "NF" group does this, they holistically infer something from the abstract bigger set of seen examples.

I'm not sure but I do understand the feel that it's rarely surprising that people have the names that they have. "Yeah, not surprised they're a Dan."
But it'd be quite a lucky guess to accurately get it right when there's a number of names that can fit a person's vibe and personality. Sometimes you will get lucky with your intuition and those moments will feel psychic, I've certainly experienced that in other areas.

@Sel_ the incoming telephone rings has increased recently, for some reason. Husband and I don't get many calls but I suspect it is happening every one to two days. I'll be concentrating on something on the computer and then all of a sudden I'll get this interrupting thought "Phone is going to ring"..... and then it does.

It has little or nothing to do with cognitive functions. You guessed or subconsciously picked up clues from the other person. Being particularly interested in other people can involve Feeling (and extroversion), but it's not Feeling or any other cognitive function that gave you the names.

By Jung theory the brain is characterised with 8 cognitive functions (unrelated to spatial brain centres, so it has no connection with neuroscience - it's an abstract theory that is not experimentally confirmed). In any case, I think cognitive functions are the only ingredient.

It feels like you might be using Clairaudient and Clairalience, which is a psychic modalities and intuitive preference. Knowing this, you are likely ENxP, likely ENTP.

You can read more about it here: MBTI+: Four Psychic Modalities and Two Intuitive...

Erin Pavlina has an intuitive program in which you can explore: https://www.erinpavlina.com/cartflows_step/intuition-development-program/

Pretty sure it's RNG.
